PDGF (Platelet-Derived Growth Factor) Skin Boosters

PDGF For Faster Healing. Smoother Texture. Better Results

Introducing PDGF, a pharmaceutical-grade growth factor paired with hyaluronic acid that supercharges your skin’s natural repair process. We use it two ways:

  • Topical add-on after Microneedling, RF Microneedling, ActiveFX CO₂, and Featherlite CO₂ to calm, hydrate, and jump-start collagen.
  • Injectable micro-placement for tear trough rejuvenation and hair restoration to support firmness, circulation, and tissue quality from within.

Think of PDGF as a gentle nudge to your skin’s own blueprint for renewal so you look refreshed sooner and results last longer.

Why Our Patients Love PDGF

  • More glow, less downtime. Patients often describe a smoother, “airbrushed” look as early as 4 weeks, with continued collagen remodeling over the next 1–2 months.
  • Potent & predictable. This is recombinant, sterile PDGF, no blood draw, no variability from one visit to the next.
  • Pro-healing partner. Ideal alongside resurfacing and microneedling to support re-epithelialization, vascular support, and organized collagen.

How PDGF Works

Your skin heals in stages. PDGF (platelet-derived growth factor) signals the “repair crew” to arrive and get to work:

  • Angiogenesis: Encourages healthy micro-circulation so fresh nutrients reach the area.
  • Fibroblast activation: The cells that make collagen, elastin, and HA show up and produce more of the good stuff.
  • Smarter remodeling: Helps replace old, disorganized collagen with new, aligned fibers for refined texture and bounce.
  • Fun fact: PDGF has been used for decades in FDA-approved medical therapies that support wound healing; in aesthetics we use PDGF to complement treatments and encourage a balanced healing environment.

The Perfect Pairings

Topical Add-On (immediately post-treatment):

  • Microneedling & RF Microneedling – soothe, hydrate, and amplify collagen remodeling.
  • ActiveFX & Featherlite CO₂ – “takes the heat off,” feels soothing on contact, and supports faster recovery.

Injectable Options

  • Tear Trough Support – micro-placed PDGF can improve skin quality under the eyes (think crepey texture and fine lines) while enhancing vascular support.
  • Hair Restoration – placed in the scalp to support follicle health, circulation, and the growth phase.

What You Can Expect

  • Right away: Calm, hydrated feel after topical application; under-eye/scalp injections may feel tender or puffy for 24–48 hours.
  • Days 3–7: Skin looks smoother and more even as the surface heals.
  • Weeks 4–8: Collagen remodeling becomes visible. Refined texture, improved firmness, and brighter tone.
  • Hair: Early changes can appear at 2–3 months, with best results after a series.
  • Typical plan: 3–6 sessions, spaced 4–8 weeks apart; maintenance varies by goal and treatment type. Results and timelines vary.

Is PDGF Right For Me?

Great For:

  • Fine lines, crepey or thinning skin

  • Under-eye skin quality
  • Early hair thinning concerns

Not Recommended If:

  • Active infection, autoimmune or inflammatory skin conditions

PDGF vs. PRP/PRF — What’s The Difference?

  • Pure PDGF+: Lab-made, single known growth factor, sterile and consistent. No blood draw and no potency swings between visits.
  • PRP/PRF: Uses your own blood and contains a mix of growth factors; concentration can vary from person to person and visit to visit. Many patients choose PDGF for predictability, comfort, and convenience; others love PRF. We’ll guide you to the best fit (and you can absolutely combine approaches over time).

After Your Visit

  • Keep the area clean and dry; no makeup for 24 hours.
  • Skip exfoliants/retinoids 3–5 days; minimize sun for 48–72 hours.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and hot tubs for 48 hours.
  • Scalp treatments: no hats 24 hours, no hair dye 1 week, pause topical minoxidil 72 hours.
  • We’ll send tailored instructions home with you.

Helpful Information + FAQs

Light flaking is common with lasers; PDGF helps calm and re-hydrate, which may make recovery feel easier.

Most plans include 3–6 sessions depending on your goals and procedure type, then maintenance. We’ll map this out during your consult.

Temporary redness, swelling, or bruising can occur. Rarely, over-stimulation or small nodules may develop, especially with over-treating an area. Infection and allergic reactions are uncommon but possible. Your medical team will review safety and minimize risks.

Let’s match you to the right plan—topical add-on, under-eye refinement, or a hair series—so you can see (and feel) the difference sooner.
