VI Peel for Skin Discoloration

Vi Peel™ – Medical Grade Peel

For those with melasma and hyperpigmentation, there are not a lot of options for removing discoloration. In some cases, lasers are not able to treat these areas and may even make the pigmentation problems worse, this is where the Vi Peel comes in! The Vi Peel is different from other peels in that it tackles skin problems at the cellular level rather than just burning skin off as in a regular peel. Thanks to the concerted actions of its many acids and vitamins, it will help erase fine lines and wrinkles, shrink enlarged pores and build collagen and elastin to tighten skin. It is extremely effective in eliminating hyper pigmentation including melasma, a dark discoloration of the skin that is the most difficult issue to address. The Vi Peel also provides excellent results for patients with acne. You will notice skin brightening, increased collagen production, skin tightening and a more even skin tone.

What does the Vi Peel treat?

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Age and sun spots
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Melasma
  • Rosacea
  • Enlarged pores
  • Oil balancing

How does Vi Peel work?

This peel penetrates into the dermis of the skin, working to resurface mild acne scars, sun damage and signs of aging. Basic peels and facials do not penetrate as deeply as this treatment, making it one of the most effective options available.

Who is/is not a good candidate for the Vi Peel?

The Vi Peel is effective on all skin types, tones and ages. Previously, African Americans and those with higher Fitzpatrick pigment levels did not have many options when it came to medical grade peels, however, that is no longer an issue with the Vi Peel. Even those with sensitive and damaged skin will benefit greatly from this treatment.

Where on the body can the Vi Peel be used?

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Chest

Is the Vi Peel painful?

Sensitive skin types may experience a slight tingling sensation on the skin, but this is considered a painless treatment.

How many Vi Peel treatments do I need?

Noticeable results will be seen after a single treatment, but best results are seen after 3-6 treatments, spaced 2-4 weeks apart. For maintenance treatments after the initial series, we recommend the Vi Peel 2-4 times per year, depending on your skin's needs.

How long does the Vi Peel last?

The effects of the Vi Peel last for months, however, this does not mean that skin is not susceptible to re-damage or the aging process. As the skin ages, cell turn over and collagen growth diminishes greatly, requiring more maintenance treatments.

During your Vi Peel appointment

Your aesthetician will thoroughly cleanse your skin before applying the first layer of the treatment. After a set amount of time, another layer of the treatment will be applied, and left on the skin a minimum of five hours. The actual appointment will only take about 30 minutes.

Post treatment expectations for the Vi Peel

After about five hours, the mask can then be washed off. The skin will being to peel around the 2nd day and will continue to do so for up to six days. There may be a slight discoloring of the skin during this time, but most clients report looking as if a sunburn is peeling off. Do not be alarmed if you only experience little to no peeling. You are still getting the full benefit! Your dead skin cells will slough off as you continue your skin maintenance regimen and new collagen is produced.

Contraindications/Risks/ Common concerns of the Vi Peel
