Epiblading / Dermaplaning

Epiblading / Dermaplaning for Smooth Skin
The terms Epiblading, Dermaplaning and Epidermal Leveling can all be used interchangeably. Dermaplaning is a popular skin maintenance treatment that is typically an add-on to to a facial service. Dermaplaning removes fine, vellus hair, removes dead skin cells, stimulates new collagen growth, helps smooth rough skin and leaves glowing skin. An aesthetician takes a scalpel like devices and gently grazes the blade over the skin, providing an extra level of exfoliation. The service is completely painless, safe and beneficial for all skin types.

epiblading or dermaplaningWhat epiblading or dermaplaning treat?

Epiblading is a somewhat simple treatment that produces glowing results. This is typically and add-on treatment to a facial service because it has the ability to help the solutions used on the skin to penetrate more deeply for an even greater benefit. Sometimes hair growth can be a contributor to acne, so removing those fine vellus hairs can help prevent acne. Epiblading is also a form of exfoliation, which removes dead skin cells, removes bacteria and stimulates growth of collagen and elastin. Throughout the aging process, cell turn over and elastin and collagen production diminishes, contributing to lines and wrinkles in the skin. Staying current with epiblading treatments helps prevent the look of aging as well as the other many benefits!

How often do I need epiblading or dermaplaning?

You can get an epiblading quite frequently, even up to every two weeks if you'd like. At Derma Health, we recommend getting either a facial or a HydraFacial treatment at least once per month, making this procedure an excellent monthly add-on.

How long does a epiblading or dermaplaning appointment take?

A regular facial takes 50 minutes and a HydraFacial takes 30 minutes, so depending on the length of the facial treatment, add another 15 minutes to complete the epiblading process.

During your epiblading or dermaplaning appointment

During your appointment, your aesthetician will take a scalpel like device and slide it over your skin, increasing absorption and providing that added exfoliation. The process is quick and painless!
